Te Awanui Tauranga Harbour Iwi Management Plan 2008
The Te Awanui, Tauranga Harbour, Iwi Management Plan provides tangata whenua of Tauranga Moana a tool that strengthens rangatiratanga and kaitiakitanga over Te Awanui.
Under the Resource Management Act 1991 regional and territorial authorities must take into account the content of iwi and hapu management plans when preparing or changing regional/territorial policy or plans. This document gives direction on the perspectives of tangata whenua regarding the harbour and land management issues.
